After Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed the death of his twin baby sons, Real Madrid and Sporting CP delivered separate tributes to the Portugal captain.
Ronaldo announced the devastating news of his son's death on his Twitter account on Monday.
Real Madrid and Sporting CP, his old teams, were quick to express their support for him.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, were expecting twins, but the baby boy died before the birth of his daughter.
Reacting, Real Madrid, in a statement via its website, said, “Real Madrid CF, its president, and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of one of the children that our beloved Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodrguez, were expecting.
Real Madrid joins the pain of the whole family and wants to show them all our love and affection.
Similarly, Sporting wrote on Instagram, “A lot of strength @cristiano. The Sportinguista family is with you. ”
