Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has spoken candidly about the players who encouraged him to join the Premier League champions.
Haaland transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Man City during the summer transfer period.
The top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, were interested in the Norwegian international before he decided to join Man City.
Haaland, however, has since admitted that he received calls and messages from more than 15 players.
He named four significant players who persuaded him to choose Man City after Dortmund's Champions League match against Pep Guardiola's team in 2021.
He identified the players as Phil Foden, John Stones, Kevin de Bruyne, and Ruben Dias.
Speaking on his decision to join Man City, Haaland said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: “It’s the best sporting project in the football world right now." It’s where I think I’ll do my best.
“After City-BVB in 2021, almost 15 people said I should come. Stones, Dias, Foden, de Bruyne. "
