Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham has urged Arsenal to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer.
The Premier League legend wants Mikel Arteta’s side to make the England international their No.1 summer transfer target.
Rice has enhanced his ever burgeoning reputation during England’s landmark win over Italy on Thursday night.
Rice scored the opening goal for the visitors with an opportunistic strike from a corner and helped the Three Lions cling to their 2-1 victory for 90 minutes.
Arsenal are said to be interested in signing Rice as he considers leaving West Ham with Manchester United and Chelsea also harbouring long-term interest.
Sheringham is confident Rice would better the team at north London and urged Mikel Arteta’s side to make a move for the England midfielder.
He told talkSPORT: “Wherever he goes, he’s going to make that team a better team. Maybe Casemiro is in that role at Manchester United so perhaps they don’t need him. But he would definitely make Arsenal a better team.”
