Rivers United are reportedly leading the race for the signature of Bendel Insurance winger Deputy Echeta.

Echeta is seeking a new adventure after running down his contract with the Federation Cup champions.

The 22-year-old played a key role for the Benin Arsenals in the Nigeria Professional Football League and Federation Cup last season.

Naijacrawl learned that Rivers United have expressed keen interest in the player.

Echeta is expected to join the Port Harcourt club in a mouthwatering deal.

He will also have the chance to play in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
