Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has expressed hopes of winning the CAF Confederation Cup for Nigeria.
The Nigerian champions are the only club from the country still challenging for honors on the continent.
The Port Harcourt club is in the quarterfinals of Africa’s second-tier club competition and will know their opponent on Wednesday.
Rivers United finished their group stage campaign in second place behind ASEC Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire.
“I can tell you that it has been a fruitful experience for us,” Eguma told the club’s media.
“We were four clubs from Nigeria that made it to the continent, and we are proud of ourselves for still flying the flag high. "We hope on doing more great things for the sake of Nigerians.”
No Nigerian club has won the CAF Confederation Cup.
