Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, on Monday evening shared a mysterious message on his Instagram story in response to Portugal's defeat by Morocco in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying round.
The cryptic message was given the title "three aspects of reality" by Ronaldo.
"Pain, ambiguity, and constant work," the five-time Ballon d'Or winner tweeted.
Ronaldo was reportedly visibly upset following Portugal's World Cup elimination at the hands of Morocco last weekend, according to Naijacrawl.
Ronaldo's final opportunity to win the coveted trophy—which he has failed to do throughout his illustrious career—was the 2022 World Cup.
The former Manchester United forward was dropped to the bench for Portugal’s two knockout games against Switzerland and Morocco by manager Fernando Santos.
There has been no news about Ronaldo’s future following the termination of his contract by Manchester United last month.
Reports claiming that the former Real Madrid star agreed to a lucrative deal to play for Saudi Arabian side, Al-Nassr, were denied by him.
There have been no credible reports linking Ronaldo to any top European clubs, and thus, Al-Nassr might be his only option ahead of the January transfer window.
