Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva has revealed that captain Cristiano Ronaldo showed a great personality inside the team’s dressing room amid the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Silva said that the former Manchester United forward helps his Portugal teammates in the dressing room.
The Manchester City star said this while defending Ronaldo, saying that the 37-year-old will not cause any rift inside the dressing room.
Ronaldo was recently dropped from Portugal’s starting lineup in their Round of 16 win over Switzerland.
The former Real Madrid star only came on in the 73rd minute and scored a goal but was ruled out for offside.
Ronaldo was visibly disappointed on the bench during the Portugal-Switzerland tie, and he was later seen going off the pitch before all his teammates at full-time.
However, Silva doesn’t believe Ronaldo will cause any fights inside Portugal’s dressing room.
Silva told the press ahead of Portugal’s last-8 tie with Morocco this weekend, “I don’t think so. I think he’s helping us. Today he showed a great personality inside the dressing room, and he was fine."
“Of course, sometimes he might not be happy because everyone wants to play, but he helped us a lot in his role, and his attitude was great.”
