Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone believes Nigeria's Victor Moses and his Chelsea team-mates were deserved winners during Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat in the UEFA Champions League.
Moses was on duty for 90 minutes as Chelsea came from behind to seal an important three points in the Champions League and preserve their perfect start to the European campaign with Michy Batshuayi and Alvaro Morata providing the goals.
Simeone in a post-match interview accepted the Blues were superior 'tactically and physically” and ran out deserved winners.
“Chelsea? They were better than us. They were always more comfortable.
“Hazard and Morata? Chelsea had a good game overall, they were very competitive and strong. They won well and deservedly so.
“The defeat? We took it as it happened, Saul had a chance to put us 2-0 up, but they were better, tactically and physically with intensity. Chelsea have to be congratulated.
“All we can do is keep growing and improve in every aspect, and surely the win will come. Roma winning? If they’d lost, it would’ve been the same.”
Victory means Chelsea stay top of Group C on six points, two clear of Roma and five ahead of third-placed Atletico.
