Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has hailed coach Walid Regragui of Morocco for learning from Mikel Arteta of Arsenal.
Regragui took Morocco to the semi-final of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, where they crashed out to title holders France on Wednesday.
Morocco became the first African nation ever to reach the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup, defeating the likes of Spain and Portugal in the process.
The Morocco manager was said to have had a Zoom meeting with Arteta before the World Cup to understand how Arsenal were able to be ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League.
“I’m happy to hear that he even had a zoom session with Mikel Arteta some months ago.
“He wanted to understand how Pep works. Of course, Arteta was Guardiola’s assistant.
“The Morocco coach learning from Arteta was nice to know. He wants to learn, and anyone can learn from anyone,” he said on sports radio, Brila FM.
