Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has revealed that she was once a social media troll before rising to fame.

The 22-year-old Afrobeats star disclosed that she ran a Nicki Minaj fan page before launching her music career. Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, hosted by Feyikemi Abudu and Jola Ayeye, Ayra Starr admitted:

"I had a troll page, I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr."

Now a global sensation, Ayra Starr has been outspoken about the harsh realities of online bullying. She has frequently faced backlash over her fashion choices and postures, but she remains unbothered. In response to critics, she once humorously stated that her “bad postures” were a result of carrying Afrobeats on her back singlehandedly.

Ayra Starr’s revelation adds an interesting twist to her journey, proving that even those who once trolled can rise above and become icons in their own right.
