Grammy-nominated afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has jetted out of the country barely 48 hours after his release from prison.
The Daily Post reported that the singer, who was being remanded at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, on the orders of the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court for assaulting a police officer in a viral video, was granted bail on Tuesday after spending eight days in detention.
Kuti was in court on Wednesday for his trial at the Chief Magistrate Court Yaba in Lagos, but the proceedings were adjourned until July 3, 2023, due to the magistrate’s absence.
On Thursday, the singer announced via his Instagram story that he was on his way to Switzerland for the commencement of his Europe tour.
Sharing a picture of himself in a plane, he wrote, "The Euro Tour kicks off tonight in Zurich.”
