Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has lashed out at fans advising him to let go of his feud with Burna Boy, telling them to "get lost" if they’re tired of supporting him.
This comes just hours after the artist parted ways with his lawyer, Stanley Alieke. Alieke, through his law firm Law Capitol, recently announced via Instagram that he was no longer representing Speed Darlington.
Speed Darlington vs. Burna Boy: Ongoing Feud
The separation between Darlington and his legal team happened a week after his release from prolonged detention by the Nigerian police. He was allegedly arrested for cyberstalking Burna Boy—a claim that has fueled their ongoing beef.
In a viral Instagram video, Speed Darlington doubled down on his stance, refusing to back down. He stated:
“I’m heading to the studio for more music. My life is my content, and nobody can tell me what to post. If you’re tired of supporting me, get lost! Let my God guide me.”
He further addressed those questioning his persistence in the Burna Boy feud, saying:
“Support, support… How many of you even spend money on me? I use my own money, so shut up and keep your advice to yourself. I’ve been through it all—there’s no fear here!”
Calls Out Burna Boy for Alleged Hypocrisy
Taking a swipe at Burna Boy, Speed Darlington captioned his post:
“Always singing about police brutality in Nigeria, yet he hires police to detain me longer. And now all you can say is ‘leave him and move on’?”
A Timeline of the Speed Darlington & Burna Boy Drama
Speed Darlington was arrested twice in October and November 2024 after making controversial remarks about Burna Boy’s rumored relationship with American rapper Diddy. He even suggested that Burna Boy’s 2021 Grammy win was influenced by this alleged connection.
In October 2024, he released a diss track titled “Baby Oil," taking shots at both Burna Boy and Diddy. The song gained significant traction on Spotify Nigeria, adding fuel to the fire.
Since his release from Kuje Prison after spending two months behind bars, Speed Darlington has subtly referenced Baby Oil in most of his content.
Addressing his fans post-detention, he declared:
“I went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
As the drama continues to unfold, one thing is clear—Speed Darlington is not backing down anytime soon!
