Nigerian Afrobeat superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has disclosed that his relationship with his colleague Burna Boy is very fragile.
He said they were on good terms, but they “don’t really talk” to each other.
Davido recently appeared on Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM, New York, USA.
Speaking on unity among Afrobeats artists, the Omo Baba Olowo crooner said, “Afrobeats [artists], we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [the boy]. He called me. He calls me as well, but we’ve not really spoken like that.
Asked whether he plans to resolve his issues with Burna Boy, Davido said, “I think I definitely will. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [the kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be madly close. Very, very close.”
Recall that the relationship between Davido and Burna Boy went sour in 2020, which resulted in a series of disagreements between the two.
The duo reportedly clashed and exchanged blows in a Ghanaian club.
Speaking of the incident, Davido said, “Funny enough, it wasn’t even us." It was our team. "It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us.”
