A fierce battle unfolded in the volatile Timbuktu Triangle as Lt.
Col. Thomas Ebisingha Alari and his troops of the 19 Battalion, 199 Battalion, and 149 Battalion fought relentlessly against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents, pushing back multiple waves of attackers before ultimately making the ultimate sacrifice.
Exclusive footage obtained by security analyst Zagazola Makama reveals the intensity of the confrontation, capturing the bravery of Nigerian soldiers who refused to retreat despite being vastly outnumbered. Before Lt. Col. Alari was killed in action, his troops had successfully neutralized over 70 insurgents, including three high- ranking ISWAP commanders identified as Talha, a notorious special forces leader; Mallam Umar; and Abu Yazeed, another top field commander.
