On Sunday, the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) claimed responsibility for an attack on a police station in Adavi, Kogi State's Okene Local Government Area.
Last Saturday, gunmen stormed the station in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The attackers, who came from the opposite direction, shot irregularly, according to Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer William Aya, while the gunmen fled with bullet wounds.
In a broadcast presented by the Voice of America less than 24 hours after the strike, ISWAP claimed responsibility for the incident.
According to a statement released by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Caliphate warriors stormed a police station, killing five people.
