The United States Bureau of Counterterrorism has praised the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its contributions to the fight against terrorism and counterinsurgency operations in Nigeria.
This is contained in a statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, Group Capt. Kabiru Ali, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Acting Principal Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism, Jessica Long, commended the NAF during a high-level meeting in Abuja, acknowledging the Nigerian military’s recent successes in disrupting terrorist networks.
Long also praised the NAF’s adoption of innovative, intelligence-driven tactics, which have proven effective in neutralizing insurgent threats.
She emphasized the importance of international collaboration in addressing evolving security threats.
The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring national security and protecting civilians during military operations.
The meeting discussed strategies to strengthen security cooperation, enhance intelligence sharing, and bolster counterterrorism efforts between the US and Nigeria.
The US reiterated its continued support for the NAF’s counter-terrorism initiatives, highlighting the need for advancing purposeful lethality through precision-driven operations.
