Brazilian football star Neymar has voiced his frustration with former coach Jorge Jesus following his first match with Santos on Wednesday.
Jesus had previously questioned Neymar’s readiness to play after his long injury layoff.
Neymar made his return to action in Santos’ 1-1 draw against Botafogo in the Sao Paulo state championship, featuring in the second half. Despite not being fully fit after his time on the sidelines, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward showed impressive performance.
However, speaking to reporters post-match, Neymar expressed his anger over Jesus’ comments: "I’m ready to play. Of course, I can’t go 90 minutes yet—I’ve been out for a long time with injury. I needed games," Neymar said. "I was VERY upset with Jorge Jesus’ remarks about my ability to play like the rest of the team."
Neymar’s departure from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal came just days ago, with his contract terminated by mutual consent.
