Chelsea target Victor Osimhen opened up about his admiration for the club’s legend, Didier Drogba, insisting that he was obsessed with the Ivorian.
Speaking to Sportsmail, Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, said he has always supported Drogba while growing up as a young footballer.
“I have always supported [Didier] Drogba, and I have huge love and admiration for him.
“I remember when he scored the equalizer in the 2012 [UEFA] Champions League Final, an amazing header, and the way I celebrated was as though I had scored the goal. "My friends knew I was obsessed with Drogba,” Osimhen said.
He added, “When I scored ten goals and won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, one of the Nigerian staff showed me a tweet from Drogba. It said, ‘Congratulations, Victor. I wish you all the best for the future.'”
Osimhen has a huge decision to make this summer regarding his future at Napoli.
The Nigerian international has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
