Mourinho sends Arsenal midfielder back from Roma
Ainsley Maitland-Niles has bid farewell to Jose Mourinho as the Arsenal midfielder leaves Italy following a six-month loan.
Maitland-Niles left the Emirates in search of regular football.
But he has been unable to force his way into Mourinho’s starting XI and has made only 12 appearances for the Serie A team in all competitions.
The 24-year-old will now return to Arsenal ahead of the 2022/2023 season.
“Great way to end the season,” Maitland-Niles wrote on his Instagram story.
“Thank you to the Roma fans, players and staff for embracing me and believing in me as one of their own for the short period of time spent at the club. What an experience to be a part of history with the club. ”
