Following the public outcry that follows the show of shame by the Nigeria Football club,Enyimba Football Club last weekend during the game against Casablanca, a match that ended 0-1 tn favour of Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
The club has now provided reason why one of their players played with a handwritten jersey. The attention of Nigerian football fans was focused on the jersey of Innocent Gabriel Okey. It looked like his jersey number was handwritten with chalk.
Very many Nigerians slammed Enyimba on Nairaland, Twitter and Facebook and the club has now provided an explanation for the strange jersey.
According to Enyimba, there was a mix up when Innocent Gabriel was being registered and he was registered with the number 3, instead of 5. He had a perfectly normal printed number 5 jersey, but he couldn't wear it because he was registered as number 3, so they had to quickly create a number 3 jersey for him.
The club stated that the error is from CAF and not from them.
