Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has described Kalidou Koulibaly as a'very, very good signing’ after Chelsea beat Udinese 3-1 in a friendly on Friday night.
Raheem Sterling scored his first goal for Chelsea, with N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount making it 3 for the Blues.
The win was a morale-boosting one for the West London side after an unexpected 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in their last friendly last week.
Tuchel was also delighted to see Sterling’s creativity on show.
Of course, he had chances and was heavily involved in other chances. "It was a good performance,” the Blues boss told Chelsea media.
Koulibaly’s name was sung by Chelsea fans at the game after the Senegalese completed his transfer from Napoli this summer, and Tuchel was delighted to hear it as he expects big things from the new centre-back.
“He deserves [it]," said Tuchel. He’s a very, very good signing; a strong personality, a strong player.
The Premier League season gets underway on Saturday, August 6 for Chelsea, with the Blues preparing to face everyone in their first game of the season.
