After Borussia Dortmund's victory over PSG in the Champions League semi-final, referee Daniele Orsato was captured on camera showing raw emotion.
Mats Hummels' decisive header secured a 1-0 win, leading to a 2-0 aggregate triumph for the Bundesliga side.
Throughout the match, Orsato, a FIFA referee since 2010, faced challenging decisions. Notably, he awarded a free kick instead of a penalty to PSG after a close call involving Hummels and Dembele just outside the penalty box.
The post-match scenes were poignant as Orsato, 48, realized it would be his final Champions League match. The Italian official is set to retire following Euro 2024.
