At the 2022 World Cup, Karim Benzema might make an unexpected comeback for the France team.

The 34-year-old was initially expected to miss the game due to injury.

Due to a thigh issue, Benzema was anticipated to miss the entire tournament.

Didier Deschamps, the head coach of France, decided against calling up a replacement and kept Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Kingsley Coman, and Marcus Thuram on the field.

RMC Sport asserts that Benzema may still play for France this week as he resumes full training at Real Madrid.

Benzema might be healthy enough to compete in the World Cup knockout rounds.

FIFA rules permit players to return to their squads if they recover from injury if they had initially been named in the tournament squad before being ruled out.
