The educational community mourns the loss of Prof Joseph Odemuyiwa, a distinguished figure renowned for his dedication to vocational and technical education.

Serving as the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Vocational and Technical Education, Prof Odemuyiwa's sudden demise has left a void in the realm of educational leadership.

Tragically, the accident occurred on Tuesday while he was en route to Ibadan, cutting short the life of the esteemed Professor of Business Education. His untimely passing has elicited profound sorrow among colleagues and students alike.

Confirming the heartbreaking news, Dickson Awolaja, the representative of Remo North State constituency, expressed his grief, highlighting the profound impact of Prof Odemuyiwa's loss on the community. Hailing from Isara Remo, much like the late professor, Awolaja conveyed the somber details of the accident, stating, "I just confirmed from a friend not long ago. Prof was said to be going to Ibadan when he had the accident. This is sad."

Throughout his illustrious career, Odemuyiwa's passion for empowering individuals through vocational skills training resonated deeply. With prior roles as a lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, and Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, both state-owned institutions, he significantly contributed to shaping the future of education in Nigeria. At 66 years old, his legacy as an educator and advocate for vocational education will endure, inspiring generations to come.
