Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that defender Levi Colwill is not for sale this summer.
The young defender is being targeted by Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool, but Pochettino said the player will remain at Stamford Bridge.
Brighton and Liverpool’s moves to sign the England defender all summer have been blocked by Chelsea. While the Blues have rejected a bid from the Seagulls, the Reds have not yet launched a bid.
Speaking to the media before their friendly game against Brighton, the former Tottenham boss stated that he was handing Colwill his first start and would continue to work with him.
“The potential is massive. He was fantastic last season with Brighton and England. We need to do our best to improve him. He’s a fantastic player in the present and has the capacity to improve in the future.”
