Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected cultist and armed robber, Alole Johnson, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Johnson was apprehended while driving against traffic, a dangerous maneuver that initially drew police attention.

The arrest, as reported by The Eagle Online, occurred when Johnson, driving a Toyota Corolla, was stopped on the long bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Upon searching his vehicle, police discovered a cache of dangerous items, including two locally made pistols, two live cartridges, an axe, a long cutlass, criminal charms, four ATM cards, multiple ID cards, liquid substances believed to be glue, N2,000, and a small bag.

The police team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Omosoigbe Claudius, was on motorcycle patrol when they noticed Johnson's suspicious behavior. Driving with full lights on the wrong side of the road, Johnson's erratic actions prompted the officers to intervene. Initially appearing intoxicated and suspicious, he was approached and subsequently taken to the station for further investigation.

A thorough search of Johnson's vehicle revealed the weapons and other items listed above. During interrogation, Johnson claimed to have no knowledge of the items found in his possession. Further investigation led to a search of his residence, where a military camouflage cap was also discovered.
