The Jigawa State Government has approved a two-hour cut in the state's statutory working hours.
This was contained in a statement provided to Naijacrawl on Monday by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila.
The reduction in working hours began on Tuesday, following the start of Ramadan fasting, according to the statement.
"Civil Servants in the State are now to report to the office from 9 a.m. and close by 3 p.m., while Friday is to close by 1 p.m.," the statement reads.
He explained that the reduced working hours are intended to provide civil servants more time to prepare for their Ramadan holiday.
Also, to have enough time throughout the Holy Month to observe their spiritual activities.
As a result, he advised civil servants to use the month of Ramadan to pray for the state's direction and benefits.
