Two bills establishing the Hisbah Commission and the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency (YITDA) were signed into law by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni on Friday.
Mamman Mohammed, Director-General of Press and Media Affairs, informed the Governor of the information in a statement.
The Hisbah Commission law, according to the declaration, is intended to monitor the application and enforcement of Shariah and to stop other social vices in the state.
“Similarly, the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency law is to coordinate and collaborate with institutions in mentoring and training youths in the field of information technology in the state,” the statement added.
The two laws, which were passed by the Yobe State House of Assembly and signed by Governor Buni, will take effect immediately on Friday, October 6, 2023, claims the statement.
