The Lagos State Police Command announced the successful bust of a fake drink factory situated in the Agege area of the state.



The operation led to the apprehension of four suspects believed to be involved in the illicit production and distribution of counterfeit beverages.


The development was disclosed by the command's Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who took to social media to share the news on Thursday. According to Hundeyin, the police initiated an investigation following reports of alleged production and circulation of fake drinks by the suspects.


During the raid conducted by officers of the Isokoko Division, the four individuals suspected to be the brains behind the illegal distillery were apprehended. Additionally, a significant quantity of fake drinks, along with empty bottles and labels representing various brands, were seized as evidence.


Hundeyin emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the risks associated with counterfeit products and their potential impact on public health and safety. He assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, underscoring the commitment of law enforcement authorities to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the well-being of citizens.
