Three young men tragically lost their lives, and several others were injured after two cars collided on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos State in the early hours of Sunday, September 22.
The incident, which occurred around 1:00 AM, involved about eight people between the two vehicles.
According to a social media user who shared details of the accident, an 18-year-old driver, who did not possess a valid driver’s license, was behind the wheel of one of the cars. The crash claimed the lives of three of his friends—two died instantly, while a third succumbed to his injuries shortly after being pulled from the wreckage.
Police reportedly arrested the two survivors from the accident scene, though the 18-year-old driver and the driver of the other vehicle also survived the crash. The circumstances surrounding the accident and the role of reckless driving remain under investigation.
