Southampton secured a spot in the Championship play-off final by defeating West Brom 3-1 on Friday night, following a goalless draw in the first leg at the Hawthorns.

The Saints, aiming for a swift return to the Premier League, broke the deadlock shortly after halftime with a goal from Will Smallbone.

Adam Armstrong then sealed the victory with two goals in quick succession. Despite a late consolation header from Cedric Kipre, Southampton's win sets up a final showdown with Leeds, with both teams vying for the last promotion spot alongside Leicester City and Ipswich Town.
