Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, has criticized Kieran Tierney of Arsenal, claiming that the left-back's injury is making him a problem for the Gunners.
Tierney, who picked up an injury during the preseason for Arsenal, recovered just in time to be included in the lineup for their Premier League debut last Friday against Crystal Palace.
The Scottish defender, however, was forced to make do with a spot on the substitutes' bench against Crystal Palace, entering the game in the 83rd.
Since joining the North London club in the summer of 2019, the 25-year-old has experienced quite a few fitness issues.
Tierney, who has just begun his fourth season with the Emirates club, has only made 64 of a possible 114 Premier League appearances in his first three seasons.
But Carragher thinks that Tierney's ongoing injuries will be a problem for Arsenal, adding that Mikel Arteta's team needs to improve at left-back.
“Arsenal needed to strengthen at left-back because Tierney’s injuries are now becoming a problem for him and for the team,” Carragher said (as quoted by HITC).
