Ben Chilwell, a defender for Chelsea, has come under fire from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher for making a "awful" error during the Blues' 3-0 victory over Luton Town on Friday.
When Chelsea defeated Luton Town, Chilwell had a golden opportunity to score, but he blew it. Carragher could not believe it.
Chelsea defeated Luton Town at Stamford Bridge thanks to a goal from Nicolas Jackson and two goals from Raheem Sterling.
“I can’t believe what I have just seen,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“We had just been talking about Ben Chilwell’s role in an attacking sense, and it looked like he was going to make me eat my words. But that was just bizarre!
“He drives through the middle, and he is in the center of the goal, unmarked. Unbelievable!
“It is awful. It really is. Such poor decision-making. Maybe he was reluctant to use his right foot or lost his bearings a little. Just trying to find excuses as to why he would not shoot there.”
