The possible next club for Arsenal ex-midfielder Mesut Ozil after his contract with Fenerbahce was terminated has been revealed.
Fenerbahce had terminated Ozil’s contract with the club after he was frozen out of the first team.
This leaves the former Germany international as a free agent this summer.
Ozil had not played for Fenerbahce since March 20, after he was dropped from the squad over his fitness.
That bust-up came with interim head coach Ismail Kartal, and there has been no way back in for the former Real Madrid playmaker under new manager Jorge Jesus, who has also left him out of his squad.
It is, however, understood that Ozil’s departure is by mutual agreement.
However, according to NTV Spor, Ozil may not have to wait too long for a new club as he is already in talks to join Istanbul Başakşehir.
The 33-year-old was reportedly ready to finish his career at Fenerbahce.
However, he appears set to join former Tottenham Hotspur star Nacer Chadli at Başakşehi, who finished fourth in the Turkish Super Lig last term.
