Eric Chelle, the newly appointed head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, officially met with the interim boss, Augustine Eguavoen, during his grand unveiling by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday.
The ceremony took place at the iconic Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Chelle made a notable entrance, warmly embracing Eguavoen as they exchanged pleasantries before taking their seats. Their brief but engaging interaction set a positive tone for the new chapter in Nigerian football.
Chelle’s arrival in Nigeria on Sunday followed his decision to part ways with Algerian club MC Oran, marking the beginning of his commitment to the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen, who stepped into the interim coaching role for the fourth time in August 2024, successfully led the Super Eagles to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. With Chelle now at the helm, Eguavoen will return to his primary role as head of the NFF Technical Department, ensuring a seamless transition and continued progress for Nigerian football.
Chelle’s unveiling signals a fresh era of ambition and strategy for the Super Eagles, with fans eagerly anticipating his impact on the team’s journey to international success.
