Manchester United have rejected Arsenal’s world-record bid for striker Alessia Russo.
Russo is out of contract at the end of the season.
However, United don’t want the England striker to join a rival so close to Tuesday’s 5 p.m. WSL transfer deadline.
United has been locked in contract talks with Russo for months with little progress.
As it stands, Russo is free to talk to foreign clubs about a summer move, and there has been interest from the United States.
The current world record for a player is around £400,000, which Barcelona paid for Keira Walsh in September 2022.
