In Ikpeshi, Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo state, two riot policemen have lost their lives, and two others are injured following a brutal assault by a mob.

The unsettling turn of events unfolded in the aftermath of an incident involving a Toyota Hilux vehicle, part of the convoy escorting former Edo House of Assembly member Emmanuel Agbaje. The vehicle reportedly collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the tragic deaths of the rider, a woman, and her child.

According to The Nation's report, Ikpeshi youths gathered around the office of the Edo State Security Vigilance Network, where the injured policemen were taken. The Chairman of Akoko-Edo local government council, Tajudeen Alade, has strongly condemned the actions of the Ikpeshi youths.
