In a harrowing incident in the Olota area of the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos, a yet-to-be-identified husband stands accused of murdering his wife last Thursday.

The alleged motive behind this shocking act was reportedly the wife's failure to prepare his preferred meal.

According to reports, the trouble began when the husband returned from work and discovered that his wife had only made noodles instead of his favorite dish. Sources suggest that the situation escalated, leading to a violent altercation where the husband purportedly struck the wife on the crown of her head with a heavy object, leaving her severely beaten.

An eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous due to fear of intimidation, revealed that the suspect left the battered wife in the house. The gravity of the situation became apparent when a concerned neighbor noticed the victim convulsing. The neighbor promptly contacted the husband, alerting him to the critical condition of his wife.

Despite efforts by the husband and neighbors to rush the convulsing woman to the hospital, their attempts were tragically unsuccessful, and she reportedly passed away en route.

While a police source has indicated that the suspect is in custody under the Lagos State Police Command, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has not yet officially confirmed this at the time of filing this report.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, a source in the Meiran Police Division disclosed that the suspect was apprehended after the deceased victim's brother brought the matter to the attention of the police station. As investigations unfold, this tragic incident raises concerns about domestic violence and underscores the importance of addressing conflicts in a non-violent manner.
